How to keep your flowers fresh longer
A few small habits can add days to your bouquet. Here's what we tell every customer.
-
1. Start with a clean vase
Bacteria shorten a bouquet’s life. Wash your vase with warm, soapy water before arranging.
-
2. Trim stems at an angle
Cut about an inch off each stem at a 45° angle every couple of days so they can drink freely.
-
3. Change the water often
Fresh, cool water every 1–2 days makes a big difference. Add the flower food we include.
-
4. Keep them cool
Place your arrangement away from direct sun, heat vents, and ripening fruit (which releases ethylene).
-
5. Remove spent blooms
Pinch off any wilting flowers or submerged leaves to keep the rest looking fresh.
